The Maraú Peninsula separates Camamu Bay from the ocean, with almost empty beaches, coconut groves and the natural pools of Taipu de Fora. Barra Grande, at the tip of the peninsula, gathers the inns, restaurants and life of the area.
Properties occupy large plots facing the sea or the bay, reached by dirt road or by boat.

- By speedboat from Camamu to Barra Grande, about 40 minutes; by dirt road from Itacaré. Small aircraft land on the Barra Grande airstrip.
